Book excerpt: A shadowy form moved in a crouch along the creek bank, a stout club upraised and silhouetted against the sparkling surface of the stream. It approached the forms of the man and the woman as they lay quietly on the rug in the moonlight near the water's edge. The woman's head rested on the man's chest as he lay on his back, as if in a deep sleep. The blows from the club came quickly and viciously, crushing the flesh and bone of the man's head and face, and then the blows fell about the woman's head. She did not stir as her head exploded like a ripe melon. She fell sideways away from the man under the force of the attack, her matted hair gleaming wetly in the moonlight. The stillness of the night was broken by the eerie sounds of the bush; the lazy honking of the wild ducks, the croaking of the frogs and the mopokes, and the laboured breathing of the attacker. The figure tossed the club into the creek before splashing into the water and swimming strongly to the far side. Then it left the stream and moved briskly along the opposite bank, heading north towards the bush track that passed by Brinkley's cottage ... In this his third novel, Gary Blinco paints a graphic picture of coun- try life as family conflict, romance and murder unfold on the Darling Downs in a time of challenge and change during the first bulk wheat harvest in 1957. This book provides an entertaining read and works on three levels: as history, romance and mystery, all in a competent way.

Book Protect the Harvest Defend the Harvester

Download or read Protect the Harvest Defend the Harvester PDF, written by Brill Pongo and published by Paragon Publishing. This book was released on 2016-09-16 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Protect the Harvest; Defend the Harvester talks about the conversion of a journalist who was very much against the rise of the modern day church, particularly the prophetic movement and the so-called prosperity gospel preachers. In his attempt to discredit the preachers, the journalist has a heavenly encounter which transforms his views and alters his spiritual course. At a later stage, while the journalist is travelling to DR Congo from Zambia, God shows him a vision and speaks to him about the need to ‘Protect the Harvest, protect the granary and defend the harvester(s)’. An interesting encounter and valuable reading as he outlines how the Media in today’s world is conspiring to discredit the church and soil the characters of the servants of God. He talks of how the church is under attack from the enemy within and without; he likens the gossiper inside church to weevils. A fascinating read. “A powerful and exhilarating testimony of an amazing encounter with God.” Pastor Rikki Doolan – Superintendent (Osborn Institute of Theology) www.osbourninstitute.com “An amazing testimony accompanied by very powerful teaching. The world needs this at this very moment.” Apostle Max Matonhodze www.planetministries.org.uk “A captivating testimony that carries you through a journey and teaches you the deep things about visions. Brilliant Pongo has demonstrated an amazing way of teaching and testifying. Indeed this book is testament to that. It is a great read.” The Financial Gazette www.fingaz.co.zw

Book excerpt: God is calling forth a generation that is passionate for His presence. What does that look like, and how can it be accomplished? Jaeson Ma offers a powerful vision of what God is radically doing in this generation. Students are already being set on fire for God, planting missional communities, praying fervently, and stepping out in faith to see God move in power to reach the lost. It is time to see this manifested on every campus, in every city, and in every nation. Through his own personal stories, student testimonies, and practical biblical teaching, Ma envisions and practically equips student and staff leaders to change themselves and their campuses for Christ. Readers of The Blueprint will receive a clear vision for revival and reformation of society, a specific spiritual DNA (passion for prayer, power evangelism, and planting simple churches), and practical tools to see the vision for reformation become a reality. That's the plan. Now to see the revolution unfold!

Download or read Strategies for Church Growth PDF, written by C. Peter Wagner and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2010-01-01 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why Plan Strategy? Is church growth theory incompatible with belief in the sovereignty of God? Does adherence to church growth principles leave out dependency upon the work of the Holy Spirit? C. Peter Wagner answers no to both questions. He further believes that no task could be more crucial than fulfilling the Great Commission in our generation, and how to approach and plan for the execution of this task is the questions of the day. Strategies for Church Growth addresses this key issue in a biblically pragmatic way. It brings together for the first time many principles of evangelism and missions which have proved, through recent research and experience, to be effective in implementing the Great Commission. It also unifies, in concise form, the latest research of the Church Growth Movement, the Lausanne Committee on World Evangelization, the U.S. Center for World Mission and numerous other key contributors to the recent explosion of evangelistic technology. Among the topics explored are: - the major components of strategy - choosing the appropriate strategy - advantages of having a strategy - the theology of church growth - the harvest principle and soil testing - why you should aim for church growth - characteristics of good goals - the meaning of mission and evangelism - how to target your outreach

Book Israel and the Covenants in New Testament Times

Download or read Israel and the Covenants in New Testament Times PDF, written by Peter Williams and published by Paragon Publishing. This book was released on with total page 351 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Bible student reference A New Testament prophecy of a falling away from truth into apostasy and lawlessness, in the final generation before Jesus Christ returns in glory, is being fulfilled now and is shortly to end. Yet Christianity has overwhelmingly moved so far from its first century roots that it could not even recognise this – or that Christ’s return is therefore now almost upon us! How and why this is the case is here explained thoroughly and logically with many examples directly from the word of God. In God’s saving plan for the world, everyone must in time make a free will choice to become part of the ‘Israel of God’ in order to access eternal life in the kingdom of God. The route to take is the “strait and narrow” way (Mat 7:13-14) that very few have so far found, and it involves the biblical new and old covenants which both apply to this Israel. Embark on this voyage only if you are willing to: be challenged about some basic Christian preconceptions, be a serious open-minded Bible student, and trust what the Bible teaches - but remember that time is short. “What the Bible has taught me I see as both vital and urgent for our eternal salvation; yet I know of no church or individual theologian who teaches what this book deals with in any substantive way” “Be prepared for major challenges to your understanding just as God has challenged me.” “In the epistles, Paul refers to two Israels whom he calls Israel after the flesh (I Cor 10:18) and the Israel of God (Gal 6:16); I focus mainly on the latter (but I also explain an unexpected but critically important connection between them)” “Dependent on the teaching, nearly all Christian denominations either teach nothing at all on it or almost the opposite of what Scripture repeatedly showed me. Looking back, I find this absolutely staggering!” “Very few [Christians] understand that the new covenant also only applies to Israel (as I will clearly show).” “I no longer believe that the NT [New Testament] can be fully understood without this extra Israel dimension” “Had I felt I could deliver this in a more light-hearted way I would have done so, but its implications are too awesome and fundamental to our eternal life prospects for that”
